- The DDR was in the incorrect position, disabling dual channel mode.
- The server has a Dual Layer DVD Burner….
- The IDE cable connecting the DVD Burner and Primary HDD was 40pin slowing the primary drive to ATA33
- Postgresql was not being used
- Apache configs…wtf?!
- Not only were the vhosts disgusting, they were just wrong.
- Conflicts between ACL and unix permissions was corrected. The conflicts were so bad in some cases `chmod 777 *` still denied access to an authorized webgroup user.
- Usergroups created per site directory for security and ease of project maintenance
As a side note: APPARENTLY every officer gets an email…Who would have thought?! They have been set to the correct addresses.
More to come!
Brad and I took it down today to do some work. By work i mean format it and start from complete scratch. It was setup horribly. Like…really really really horribly. Brad felt like updating the BIOS in it, and brought something to my attention. One of the drives was running at ATA33 due to the cable. THE FRICKING CABLE! And the people in #clemsonlinux were bitching that i just pulled it. Maybe if they didn’t let it become so damned crippled i wouldn’t have to fix it! WTF?!
Listening to Hirano Aya! Weeeeeeee ^^

Woohoo! Second Life sucks anyways. This is funny b/c my department at work was considering purchasing an island today. I still hope they don’t…What a waste.

Ok so this wasn’t a great idea. It required me to enable kernel debuging, that made my laptop slow down enough to where i noticed it. Then all of my modules had to be recompiled. I disabled the debug in the kernel afterwords so that it would speed up, and that broke everything. Even after re-enabling it. I had to recompile the ipw3945 modules twice, and X was still crashing. I just recompiled xorg-server and all is working. Stupid debug settings…. -grumbles-
