has one the internet! Sorry for all of those that were trying so hard, but he’s taken the lead. He was able to find a torrent for Ocean Girl, a show i watched when i was little. So he burned the first season for me. My stupid laptop wouldn’t mount the cd though due to an update in hal though, as a side note to myself, i had to modify my /etc/fstab entry to contain this:
/dev/sr0 /mnt/cdrom iso9660 noauto,ro,user 0 0
Something else i did yesterday, and waited to post about, was modify my stereo. Apparently on 2002 model Jetta’s the doubledin monsoon stereo was wired incorrectly. I’ve been working on the stereo a lot recently and found this article about it. I’ve since then modded the wires and listened to the radio on the long 3 hour ride home. The stereo is awesome! It’s so clear and the bass is perfect! I have no reason to replace the headunit or any of the speakers now! Now all i have to do is purchase some adapters for my radio antenna and i can inline my ipod or any other device into my stereo. I’m looking forward to it ^^. I told my dad about the mod and he wants me to look at my brother’s car now, since he has an almost identical Jetta. I don’t do the mod quite as pictured, so if my bro needs it then i’ll make my own pictures and post them. Ttyl all, it’s breakfast time.
why can’t i fall asleep ><
…now it’s 4:20 -sigh-
Something i’ve been working on for a couple weeks has been installing cacti on the CLUG server. It’s a monitoring software that reports all sorts of system stats. Basically so i can monitor the server’s health. Anyways after a lot of trouble, reading etc. i finally got it working. Check it out here:

It’s really meant for multiple servers, but oh well. Serves it’s purpose. Also went through the gentoo wiki and made sure it’s installed safely. There isn’t a lot of information available now, but it will add up eventually. Now all i have to do is modify the backup scripts some more and i’m set.
I got a new work machine today and had to reinstall my work crap. When it came to firefox, i couldnt’ remember all the extensions i use. Took a little bit but here’s a list of extensions i find useful:

thinks i’m going to see the new Die Hard and Room 1408.
Helicopter + Police car = awesome
Why yes, I will be watching this epic piece of cinema as soon as I can, and it will be awesome. 1408 too. Chris doesn’t know it yet, but he will be made to see these tomorrow in a back-to-back movie-thon of awesomeness.
See? However, he is sadly mistaken.
So Clemson just switched employees over to the exchange server this past Monday. Fun! But apparently emails weren’t sent from the first batch of papers added to my thesis and dissertation database. So i spent all day writing a big while loop that sent emails for every document between specified dates. Ofcourse i needed test runs though, so i sent myself about 130 emails (batches of about 60, then 70) and found i had to increase the PHP max execution time to about 120 seconds.
After doing this, i clicked the “Go” button and made a few people’s day, sending 103 emails almost instantly to 3 people across the exchange server. Not certain what kind of load it did, but i know it almost crashed the work machine here to check that many. Fun ^^
Going to whore out my live journal plugin and give props to a mad coder genius. converted his blog to look like the CMS he created. Cool right? Now let me mention that his CMS allows pages, usernames, archives, posts etc. All without the use of a database. Yeah, kicks ass.
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.
Just modified a LiveJournal Wordpress plugin to search for user avatars, i’ll play around with it more before i actually support it.
